About This Newsletter

Ever since I saw the Halloween special about the Great Pumpkin, I have been fascinated by it.

Letter from the editor

The Great Pumpkin, as opposed to other Halloween pumpkin myths, gives us a different picture of the Halloween pumpkin. The great pumpkin is a good guy, who gives presents and blessings to children. Most other Halloween pumpkin myths reveal a darker, less appealing, creature.

Halloween is the reminets of a pagan holiday. Many of the customs surrounding it are either similar to those originally followed or those the early church put into place. Many of the creatures, such as the pumpkin characters, we're shown as evil. Thus, most people, considered them as evil, no matter what the original myth said.

Today Halloween, in most cases, is considered a fun holiday. The Great Pumpkin reveals the fun of this ancient celebration. The Great Pumpkin shows what we look forward to. We enjoy dressing up in costumes, going to parties, and getting sweet treats. Many adults hove pleasant memories of Tricker Treating.

Have a Happy Halloween. Write a story about a pleasant Halloween memory or the Great Pumpkin.
